Photo Permission
Yes, I agree to my photograph being published on the shelter's website, or any other publications or newsletter submissions to further the shelter's activities.

Socialization
Working with cats to ensure that they receive proper attention and socialization while at the Shelter. This includes brushing, grooming, and playing with the cats. Also making sure they have enough toys in each room.
In House Care
Assisting in bathing and/or grooming cats as needed. Cleaning the shelter. This includes: scooping litter pans, washing litter pans when needed, washing walls, changing linens, cleaning cages in isolation rooms and washing floors most everyday.
Special Events
Giving humane education presentations (such as schools), taking cats to off-site events (such as adoption events)
Fundraisers
Assisting at fund raising events by working booths, providing information to the public, serving as representative of the Shelter.
Pre/Post Adoption Planning
When necessary, complete a pre-adoption home visit to evaluate the potential home setting when necessary, complete post adoption follow-up by meeting with the new adopters, answering their questions, and attempting to solve any problems. Also, making contact with neighbors to assure cat is not left outside.
Clerical
Assist in compiling press releases and newsletters, write articles, edit articles, take for printing, etc. Complete telephone follow up from answering machine, log contact in journal. Make adoption telephone calls within 4 days of adoption. Work on computer to feed in cat pictures and relevant data.
Promotional Events
Assist in setting up shows, set up and maintain shelter relationships between shelter and stores, organizations, etc.

Volunteer Agreement
I agree to serve without compensation as a volunteer worker to provide gratuitous service to the Shelter. As a volunteer worker, I acknowledge that I will be acting entirely at my own risk. I am aware of the dangers inherent in handling animals and the hazards inherent in the normal course of volunteer work at the Shelter.
In consideration of the Shelter allowing me to provide volunteer work on a gratuitous basis for the charitable and not-for-profit purposes of the Shelter, I hereby release, discharge and indemnify the New Beginnings Cat Shelter and its agents, directors, officers, servants, employees and other volunteer workers from any and all claims, present or future, whether known or unknown on account of any personal or bodily injury, including death and/or on account of any damage to any of my property suffered and sustained by me from any cause incident to or arising out of, during or in connection with, any volunteer work for or on behalf of the Shelter. The Shelter has the right to terminate this Agreement upon its discretion. I understand and agree that the terms of this Agreement shall be binding upon heirs, my assigns, personal representatives, and myself. In the case of an emergency requiring medical care, I authorize the New Beginnings Cat Shelter to act on my behalf.
I will provide a written signature on a printed version of this application before beginning any volunteer work.
